Sputnick has announced the latest release of Quassel IRC which was not the exact release announcement most expected, they have been working rather hard to improve the client for a 2.0.x release which would make do until several rewrites of portions of the code would be done for 3.0.x However it seems the goal has been met with even more speed than even they had expected. Spammers are abusing free Web services to make their spam links look more legitimate, according to e-mail security vendor MessageLabs.
One of the services, a photo-hosting site called ImageShack, lets people upload different types of photo formats, including Flash files, said Paul Wood, a senior analyst with MessageLabs.

Flashcode has announced on the WeeChat blog the following:
New version of /upgrade command is now available. Today it's working for core and IRC plugin. Almost all code has been rewritten, so maybe there's new bugs
Known bugs/limits today:
IRC plugin: not working if WeeChat is currently reconnecting to server
IRC plugin: all messages queued (anti-fllood when sending to server) are lost during upgrade
upgrade does not work for xfer plugin

Two announcements from the guys working on the InspIRCd project, a release for both there stable and development branch, as ever both the windows and source distributions are both already packaged up and ready for download.
